Routing pulls documents to the highest-ranking stage for which they qualify based on workflow's entry routers. Documents that do not qualify for any stage lie in wait until the appropriate time.
Initiate Global Routing causes all documents that haven't been manually set to a stage to move to the highest-ranking stage for which they qualify. This function also excludes documents currently checked-out in existing Workflow batches. The Routing Status footer on the Workflow page indicates when routing is complete.
