Nebula AI Case Explorer™ | Getting Access and Understanding Roles

Logging in

Nebula AI Case Explorer™ is accessed through your existing Nebula login — no separate credentials are needed.

  1. Log in to Nebula with the credentials your KLDiscovery team provided.
  2. Open or select the repository you're working in.
  3. Hover over the Cull menu in the top navigation bar and select AI Case Explorer. It opens in a new browser tab.
  4. If no projects exist yet in that repository, you'll land directly in project creation (Admin users only — see below). If a project already exists, you'll see the Project List.

Because AI Case Explorer opens in its own browser tab rather than replacing Nebula, there's no in-app "return to Nebula" button in the main navigation — switch tabs (or close the AI Case Explorer tab) to get back to Nebula.

Browser support: Use Chrome or Firefox for the best experience. Safari has known display issues in the current pilot build — avoid it for now if you have a choice.

          Permission levels

Access to AI Case Explorer is controlled by two permissions, set up by your Nebula administrator at the user-group level:

          Permission

          What it allows

          Case Explorer

Access to AI Case Explorer, and viewing and searching the data — themes, people, events, documents, and chat.

          Case Explorer – Admin

Everything in the base permission, plus the ability to create a new AI Case Explorer project and import data (the onboarding wizard), change the case summary, analyze relevance feedback to suggest case summary changes, running an updated version of the project’s AI analysis, and restoring a previous project version.

If you don't see the option to create a project, or you land somewhere unexpected, check with your Nebula administrator that the right permission has been assigned to your user group.

During the pilot: If you can't find AI Case Explorer under the Cull menu at all, ask your KLDiscovery project manager to confirm it's enabled for your repository.
