Nebula AI Case Explorer™ | Exploring Documents
Document Explorer is a searchable, filterable list of every document in your analysis. Use it to move from a high-level view of the case down to individual documents.
Filtering. You can filter the document list by:
Global Filters – select the Filters button above the document list. You can choose to collapse the global filters panel, or choose if the panel sits on the left or top of the document list:
- Document name or ID
- Document Relevancy
- Key Themes
- Storylines
- Key People
- Date (a specific range, from a date, or until a date)
- Extension / Document Type
- None

Visualizing clusters. Alongside the document list, Document Explorer offers two visualizations of how your documents group, or cluster, together by topic. These topics are generated from the content within the documents. Clusters give you an undirected view of relevant topics that may be in the dataset, whereas key themes are the directed part of the AI analysis.
- Tree map — nested rectangles sized by document count within each cluster.
- Sunburst — a radial view of the same cluster breakdown.
Both are interactive — hover to see a cluster's document count and click to drill in and filter the document list to the selected cluster. Clusters can have multiple sub-topics.
The document list can show, per document: a key-document flag, the document name/ID and a short description, key themes, clusters, storylines, key people, file type, relevance, your feedback (agree/disagree), date, notes, and whether it's saved. It's sorted by relevance (highest first) by default. Columns can be sorted, filtered, and resized. If your filters return nothing, the list tells you so and suggests adjusting them. The key-document and saved flags shown in the list are read-only there — toggle them from the Document Viewer instead.
Key Docs
Key Docs is a dedicated view of documents the AI analysis flagged as potentially important to the case and may warrant further review — either by the AI during analysis or manually by any team member from the Document Viewer. Because it's a shared, live collection, it's a good place to start reviewing or hand off a starting point to a colleague. You can filter it the same way as Document Explorer and save it as a search from here. If your team flags or unflags a document as ‘key,’ AI Case Explorer will preserve this between versions of the project.
